Requirements

The goal of the research project “Sustainable Oberstdorf – Future-oriented strategies for communities with large-scale sports event buildings” was to develop a sustainability concept using the example of the overall region of Oberstdorf.

Implementation

The focus was on an sustainability assessment of the status quo of the Oberstdorf region, the development of year-round utilization concepts for the large sporting event buildings and the examination of transferability to other regions with similar initial conditions.

The project was carried out by the Department of Building Climatology of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Natalie Essig of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Munich in cooperation with Companeer, and funded by the “Bundesprogramm Transnationale Zusammenarbeit” of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior, for Building and Home Affairs.
