Former Companeer working student wins competition

“Munich-based finance and actuarial mathematician Leo Höfter has won the poster competition for the Wiesn 2022. That’s why the decision fell on his motif.” , the City of Munich reported on Thursday. During his master’s studies, Leo contributed at Companeer e.g. to the mobility concept for UEFA EURO 2020.

We asked our former working student how he came up with the idea for this design: “Well, first of all: the idea for the motif of the Münchner Kindl and the Aloisius leading people back to the Wiesn came from me. My friend Julia Treichel supported me with the graphic design. Being a landscape architect, this was not the first competition she had participated in. Still, we never dreamed we would have a chance. That’s why we didn’t decide to submit until the last minute.”

This year’s winning motif

The Höfters’ connection to Oktoberfest and beer is a tradition: although Leo now lives in Munich, he comes from a family of hop farmers in the Hallertau region. When traveling with him on business, it can happen that you get involved in a conversation with the brewer’s daughter at Päffgen in Cologne because a hop sack with his family’s branding is hanging on the wall.

In any case, we are proud of our Leo. He is a shining example of the creativity and professional variety that our team brings to its project work every day. And Leo, for his part, still raves about his time as a working student: “What makes Companeer special is the great atmosphere, the team spirit and the resulting fruitful cooperation.”
