Red, green, blue, right here, left there please – navigating in a jungle of signs is possible
Spectators arriving by car or coach must know how to reach their destination. For the Champions League Final there was a special parking space concept with additional coach parking and approach routes. The dynamic electronic road signage system as well as static signage for the existing traffic guidance system around the Allianz Arena had to be adapted.
Companeer developed a coherent transportation concept and implemented this according to plan. The objective was to provide instantly recognizable and easily readable signposting. In order to guide the visitors specifically to the provided parking spaces and also create a visual connection to the different parking permits, Companeer developed an eye-catching colour concept. In this way, the traffic volume around the arena could be controlled in the best possible way and take the load off the approach roads. Furthermore, Companeer planned and installed information boards in the parking areas in order to point out the relevant parking permits as soon as people arrived. The signage concept was agreed and coordinated with the City of Munich transport authorities, the police department, the motorway authority and the operators of the parking areas to be used. Authorization to install the road signs and information boards was obtained. Companeer carried out the tendering, contracting and supervision of the installation of the signage in and around the Allianz Arena.
